2026 First Nations, Métis, Inuit Circle / Union Savings Indigenous Bursary
The OFL First Nations, Métis, Inuit Circle / Union Savings Indigenous Bursary aims to support Indigenous students pursuing post-secondary education. This bursary is a pathway to meaningful work, careers, and activism in the labour movement, addressing the need for increased representation of Indigenous people in skilled professions.
With a value of $5,000, this bursary is designed for First Nation, Métis, or Inuit students who are connected to an affiliated union or local. The bursary not only provides financial support but also emphasizes the importance of education and union involvement in creating a stable future.
Eligibility
Applicants must be First Nation, Métis, or Inuit students who are:
- The child or family member of an affiliated union or local, or;
- A member in good standing of an affiliated union or local of the OFL, and;
- Accepted and enrolled in any accredited college or university in Ontario, or;
- Have a signed apprenticeship.
Benefits
The bursary provides a financial award of $5,000 to support educational expenses.
