2026 Hubei Provincial Government Scholarship at China Three Gorges University

The 2026 Hubei Provincial Government Scholarship is now open for applications from international students wishing to enroll at China Three Gorges University (CTGU). This scholarship supports undergraduate, master's, and doctoral studies at a prominent institution located near the world's largest hydroelectric dam, known for its engineering, environmental science, and medical programs.

This initiative by the Hubei Provincial Government aims to attract international talent and build global alumni networks, particularly with developing nations in South and Southeast Asia, Africa, and Latin America. The scholarship not only provides financial support but also fosters long-term economic and diplomatic ties.

Applicants must be non-Chinese nationals in good health, with educational qualifications appropriate for their desired level of study: a high school diploma for undergraduate applicants, a bachelor's degree for master's candidates, and a master's degree for doctoral applicants. Age limits are as follows: undergraduates must be between 18 and 25, master's candidates between 18 and 30, and doctoral applicants between 18 and 35. Language proficiency is required based on the medium of instruction: HSK Level 4 for Chinese-taught programs or an IELTS score of 6.0 for English-taught programs.

The scholarship includes a tuition waiver and an annual stipend: RMB 20,000 for doctoral candidates, RMB 15,000 for master's students, and RMB 10,000 for undergraduates. General visiting scholars receive RMB 5,000 per semester or RMB 10,000 per academic year. Note that it does not cover accommodation, health insurance, or living expenses.
