Afreximbank–Edordu Research Competition 2026 for Postgraduate Students in Africa (USD 45,000 Prize)
The Afreximbank–Edordu Research Competition invites postgraduate students across Africa and eligible Caribbean states to produce original research on critical issues affecting the continent's economic trajectory, including trade, finance, integration, and sustainable development. This competition honors the legacy of Mr. Christopher Edordu, the Pioneer President of Afreximbank.
Winners will not only receive substantial cash prizes but will also have their research translated into actionable policy briefs, presented to Afreximbank leadership, and showcased at major events, ensuring their work contributes to Africa's trade discourse.
Eligibility
Open to postgraduate students (Master’s or PhD) currently enrolled at accredited institutions in Africa or eligible CARICOM states. Applicants must hold nationality from an African country or an eligible CARICOM state.
Benefits
Prizes include USD 20,000 for the first prize, USD 15,000 for the second prize, and USD 10,000 for the third prize, along with support for books and tuition.
