The Aga Khan Foundation offers a limited number of scholarships for postgraduate studies to outstanding students from select developing countries who lack the means to finance their education. The program aims to develop effective scholars and leaders for employment primarily within the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN). Scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis and cover tuition fees and living expenses, with a portion provided as a loan.

Eligibility

Applicants must be nationals of Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Syria, Egypt, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Madagascar, or Mozambique. They should demonstrate excellent academic records, genuine financial need, and admission to a reputable university. Preference is given to Master's level courses, but exceptional PhD candidates may also apply.

Benefits

The scholarship covers 50% as a grant and 50% as a loan, which must be repaid with a 5% annual service charge. Funding for PhD programs is available for the first two years only.
