The ACT Nyoloha Scholarship Programme offers young South Africans aged 17 to 25 the opportunity to study performing, visual, or digital arts at a South African tertiary institution starting in 2027. This initiative provides two full scholarships, each valued at up to R300,000, to help launch careers in the creative economy through mentorship, training, and live showcases.

Participants will engage in a six-month program that includes professional exposure, networking opportunities, and workshops with industry leaders. This scholarship is crucial for nurturing new talent and supporting the next generation of artists in South Africa.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the Nyoloha Scholarship, applicants must:

  1. Be aged 17 to 25 years old.
  2. Be currently in Grade 12 or have university exemption.
  3. Need funding to study performing or visual arts in 2027 at a South African tertiary institution.
  4. Not be enrolled in any tertiary studies in 2026.
  5. Not hold a prior qualification in arts or creative fields from a South African school.
  6. Not be a professional artist with full-time training or a job in the art field.
  7. Not have participated in or reached the finals of the 2025 ACT Nyoloha programme.
  8. Be able to commit to the full six-month programme.

Benefits

Each scholarship covers up to R300,000 for studies in performing, visual, or digital arts at a South African tertiary institution.
