Australia Awards Scholarships provide opportunities for individuals from developing countries, particularly in the Indo-Pacific region, to pursue full-time undergraduate or postgraduate studies at participating Australian universities and TAFE institutions. This initiative aims to enhance the skills and knowledge of recipients, contributing to the development of their home countries.

The scholarships cover a range of benefits including full tuition fees, return air travel, living expenses, and health cover, ensuring that students can focus on their studies without financial burden.

Eligibility

To be eligible, applicants must:

  1. Be at least 18 years old on 1 February of the scholarship commencement year.
  2. Be a citizen of a participating country and apply from their country of citizenship.
  3. Not hold Australian citizenship or permanent residency.
  4. Not be married to or engaged with someone who holds Australian or New Zealand citizenship.
  5. Not be current military personnel.
  6. Not have previously received a long-term Australia Award unless they have resided outside Australia for twice the duration of their previous award.
  7. Meet specific criteria set by the Program Area or their home government.
  8. Satisfy the admission requirements of the chosen institution.
