British Council TESOL Scholarships 2026

The British Council English and School Education Scholarships Scheme 2026/2027 offers 40 fully funded scholarships for experienced English teachers and teacher educators from Ghana, Kenya, Türkiye, Bangladesh, India, and Sri Lanka. This opportunity allows participants to pursue part-time online TESOL master’s programs while also engaging in a two-week study visit to the UK for networking and collaboration.

This scheme aims to strengthen English language teaching in national school systems by providing government school teachers with the resources and support needed to enhance their skills and improve educational outcomes in their countries.

Applicants must:

• Be permanent residents of Ghana, Kenya, Türkiye, Bangladesh, India, or Sri Lanka.
• Work in or directly with the government education system.
• Be active English language teachers or teacher educators.
• Meet the academic entry criteria for the chosen master’s program.
• Show a commitment to improving national English language teaching systems.

The scholarship covers:

• Full tuition fees for the online master’s program.
• Return flights to the UK.
• Campus accommodation during the two-week visit.
• Breakfast and a living stipend for daily expenses during the visit.
• Reimbursement of the visa application fee.
• Reimbursement of one English language test fee.
