The British Council Women in STEM Scholarships 2026‑27 initiative aims to support women from eligible countries to pursue a fully funded one‑year master’s degree in STEM subjects at leading UK universities. This program focuses on increasing opportunities for women in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, strengthening female leadership in STEM fields, and helping scholars further their careers through study and research in the UK.
With full scholarships covering tuition fees, living stipends, travel and visa costs, health coverage, and English language support, this opportunity is designed to empower female leaders in science and innovation. Eligibility
- Be a woman (legal sex as defined under UK legislation) from an eligible country
- Hold a completed undergraduate degree or be in the final year of completion before enrolment
- Demonstrate financial need and lack of ability to fund UK study independently
- Meet university entry and English language requirements
- Have an active interest or professional experience in a STEM field
- Plan to contribute to socio‑economic advancement in their home country after graduation
Preference may be given to applicants who have not previously studied or lived in the UK.
