
Call for PhD Scholarship Applications
The BRIDGE NETWORK Project is offering a PhD scholarship aimed at training experts in integrated health informatics and data sciences, specifically in the field of infectious diseases. This initiative is part of a larger consortium of African and European institutions, funded by the European Union and the Global Health EDCTP3. The program will establish Centers of Excellence across several African countries, providing world-class training and innovative solutions to combat infectious diseases.
This opportunity is designed for graduates and postgraduates from Sub-Saharan Africa who hold a master’s degree and are eager to contribute to health systems innovation in their home countries. The scholarship will support one candidate in pursuing a doctoral degree that combines data science techniques with health informatics.
Eligibility
To be eligible, applicants must:
- Never have been enrolled in another PhD program at the date of their recruitment.
- Be a resident of Kenya at the time of application.
- Commit to stay and work in Kenya during the project period, with allowances for training rotations or internships in BRIDGE NETWORK countries.
- Hold a master’s degree in data sciences, Information Technology, or Health Sciences.
- Fulfill the admission requirements of the University of Rwanda.
- Be not older than 45 years.
Benefits
The scholarship covers tuition fees and provides a stipend for living expenses during the PhD program.
