The Canada Graduate Research Scholarship – Doctoral (CGRS D) programme recognizes and supports outstanding doctoral students across various fields including health, natural sciences, engineering, social sciences, and humanities. This scholarship aims to provide high-quality research training and foster innovation, empowering awardees to contribute significantly to Canada’s research ecosystem.
With a value of CAD $40,000 per year for up to 36 months, this scholarship not only supports students financially but also offers them the flexibility to hold the award part-time and even abroad for Canadian citizens and permanent residents.
Eligibility
Applicants must:
- Have completed no more than 36 months of full-time doctoral study by 31 December of the application year.
- Be enrolled in a research-oriented doctoral program.
- Not have previously received a doctoral-level scholarship from CIHR, NSERC, or SSHRC.
- International applicants: Up to 15% of awards are available to international students enrolled in a Canadian doctoral program.
