cFish: Scaling Community-based Fisheries Management through Information, Learning and Action
The cFish project aims to empower remote and marginalized communities in Papua New Guinea, the Solomon Islands, and French Polynesia to sustainably manage their coastal resources. By implementing community-based fisheries management (CBFM) strategies, the project seeks to enhance climate resilience, improve food security, and safeguard biodiversity. This initiative builds upon successful models and focuses on inclusive participation, ensuring that women, youth, and marginalized groups are actively engaged in decision-making processes.
Through targeted information campaigns and hands-on training, the project fosters locally-led solutions tailored to the unique social and ecological contexts of each nation. By investing in the capacity of national and sub-national institutions, cFish pioneers a sustainable approach to fisheries management, promising a more resilient and food-secure future for Pacific Island communities.
