Commonwealth Shared Scholarships 2017 for Students from Developing Commonwealth Countries (Fully Funded)

Commonwealth Scholarship Commission in the United KingdomGlobalScholarshipsDeadline: Posted

The Commonwealth Shared Scholarships are designed for students from developing Commonwealth countries to pursue one-year Master’s courses at UK universities. This initiative aims to address the development needs of these countries by providing training for skilled professionals and academics who might not otherwise have the opportunity to study in the UK.

Since its inception in 1959, the Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan has supported around 30,000 individuals, making it one of the largest and most prestigious scholarship schemes for international study worldwide.

Eligibility

Applicants must be Commonwealth citizens, refugees, or British protected persons, permanently residing in a developing Commonwealth country. They should hold a first degree of at least upper second class (2:1) or lower second class (2:2) with a relevant postgraduate qualification. Candidates must not have studied or worked in a developed country for one year or more and should demonstrate financial need.

Benefits

The scholarship covers approved airfare, tuition fees, a monthly stipend (£1,043 or £1,279 for London), a warm clothing allowance, a study travel grant, and excess baggage allowance.
