Confucius Institute Scholarship 2026 in China | Fully Funded

The Confucius Institute Scholarship 2026 in China is a prominent, fully financed program intended for overseas students who want to learn Chinese as a second language and study Chinese culture and language. Supported by the Confucius Institute (Hanban), it allows students from all over the world to attend more than 150 Chinese colleges, offering a great route to professions in international business, education, diplomacy, and translation.

This scholarship provides students the opportunity to become fully immersed in Chinese life and culture while attending highly regarded Chinese colleges, with comprehensive financial support covering all major expenses.

• Must be non-Chinese citizens and in good physical and mental health
• Age requirement: 16–35 years (up to 45 years for in-service Chinese language teachers)
• Undergraduate applicants must be under 20 years of age
• Must meet HSK and HSKK language proficiency requirements based on the selected program
• High school diploma required for Chinese language or BTCSOL programs
• Bachelor’s degree required for MTCSOL programs
• One recommendation letter required for Chinese language or BTCSOL programs
• Two recommendation letters required for MTCSOL programs
• Applicants for MTCSOL with confirmed teaching employment prospects after graduation will be given preference
• Applicants for short-term programs must not have previously studied in China.
