
Country Director
The Country Director holds the most senior leadership role for the Agrifood System Transformation for Youth Employment (ASTYE) program in Uganda. This transformative initiative aims to address systemic challenges in agricultural development and youth employment, particularly for young women. The role involves overseeing program performance, strategic direction, and in-country representation, ensuring alignment between vision and execution.
The Country Director will lead a complex portfolio focused on agricultural transformation and rural development, interfacing with government, donors, and strategic partners. This position is crucial for creating dignified work opportunities for young people while strengthening Uganda's agrifood ecosystem.
Eligibility
Candidates must have a Master's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Economics, International Development, or a related field. An advanced degree, such as a PhD, is preferred. Applicants should have 15+ years of senior leadership experience in development or rural transformation, with proven program leadership and compliance experience.
