
DAAD In-Country/In-Region Programme Sub-Saharan Africa Scholarships 2026 for African Graduates (Fully Funded)
The DAAD In-Country/In-Region Programme aims to enhance higher education systems in Sub-Saharan Africa, fostering sustainable development through scholarships for development-related Master studies. This initiative is designed for individuals aspiring to careers in teaching or research at higher education institutions in the region.
The program supports high-quality postgraduate programs, enabling graduates to tackle development-related challenges and strengthen education and research in their home countries. It particularly encourages applications from women and underprivileged groups, aiming to build a diverse and capable professional community.
Eligibility
Graduates and postgraduates from Sub-Saharan Africa with a first academic degree. Applicants must be pursuing Master’s degrees either in their home country or in another Sub-Saharan African country. Female applicants and candidates from less privileged regions or groups are especially encouraged to apply.
Benefits
Monthly scholarship, study and research allowance, thesis publishing costs, tuition fees. In-Region scholarship holders may also receive a travel allowance and health insurance.
