
Diamond Jubilee Research Scholarship 2026/27 for International Students (Fully Funded)
The University of Strathclyde offers the prestigious Diamond Jubilee Research Scholarship for international students pursuing a PhD in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. This highly competitive scholarship covers full tuition fees for up to three years of full-time study, providing a valuable opportunity for academically strong candidates.
Applications open on 15 April 2026 and close on 13 May 2026. The scholarship supports one international PhD student starting on 1 October 2026, although it does not include a stipend for living expenses, which are estimated at approximately £20,000 per year.
Eligibility
Applicants must demonstrate strong academic excellence, typically holding a First-Class undergraduate degree or a Master’s degree with Merit or Distinction. Candidates with an Upper Second-Class degree may apply if they submit an exceptional research proposal. Alignment with the Faculty’s research expertise and a compelling proposal are essential.
Benefits
Covers 100% of tuition fees for up to three years. Living expenses, visa fees, travel costs, and healthcare surcharges are not covered.
