English and School Education Scholarships Scheme
The British Council has launched a prestigious international scholarship scheme in partnership with the University of Portsmouth and the University of Stirling. This initiative aims to strengthen English language teaching within government school systems across Ghana, Kenya, Türkiye, Bangladesh, India, and Sri Lanka by investing in experienced educators and equipping them with advanced qualifications and global exposure.
The scheme will award 40 fully funded scholarships for qualified teachers to pursue part-time, online master’s degrees in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL). This comprehensive funding model ensures that participants can focus on their academic and professional development without financial burden.
Eligibility
Qualified teachers and teacher educators from Ghana, Kenya, Türkiye, Bangladesh, India, and Sri Lanka. Applicants must secure admission to the relevant TESOL master’s programme before applying for the scholarship.
Benefits
Full tuition fees for the TESOL programme, return international travel to the UK, living expenses for a two-week academic residency, and access to academic and professional resources.
