FAO Evaluation Specialist 2026 for Global Professionals (Remote Work Opportunity)
The FAO Evaluation Specialist opportunity allows experienced professionals to contribute to global development by supporting evidence-based decision-making in food security, agriculture, and sustainability. This home-based consultancy role enables specialists in evaluation, research, and policy to work on high-impact international projects while advancing their careers in the development sector.
Selected professionals will join a roster established by the FAO Office of Evaluation to support its Rolling Evaluation Workplan for 2026–2029, which includes over 200 evaluations across various global, regional, and country levels. This role offers flexibility through remote work arrangements, allowing professionals to engage in meaningful work without geographic constraints.
Eligibility
Open to professionals with a strong background in evaluation, research, or related fields. Applicants should hold an advanced university degree in areas such as economics, public policy, statistics, data science, sociology, or related disciplines. At least five years of relevant professional experience is required for consultant roles, while PSA applicants should have a minimum of three years of experience. Strong analytical skills and proficiency in English are required, along with limited proficiency in another FAO official language.
