The Hauwa Ojeifo Scholarship, delivered by One Young World in partnership with the Hauwa Ojeifo Global Impact Fund for Women & Girls, is a transformative opportunity for emerging young leaders committed to addressing the urgent challenges faced by women and girls worldwide. This scholarship supports changemakers tackling issues like child marriage, gender-based violence, mental health disparities, maternal and child health, disability rights, and sexual and reproductive health.

The scholarship empowers young leaders by providing them with the tools, knowledge, and global platform to create transformative impact in their communities. Scholars are equipped to lead initiatives that address systemic challenges affecting women and girls, fostering a new generation of empathetic, courageous, and visionary leaders.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the Hauwa Ojeifo Scholarship, applicants must:

  • Be aged 18-30 at the time of the One Young World Summit (candidates slightly older may be considered if they demonstrate exceptional impact).
  • Hold a leadership role, work in an organization, or lead their own initiative with proven impact in areas such as mental health, domestic violence, disability rights, and issues affecting the girl child.
  • Reside in Africa, Asia, or the Middle East and actively make an impact in their community.
