The IPS Africa Scholarship is a fully funded opportunity for young university graduates from Sub-Saharan Africa to experience German parliamentary democracy firsthand in Berlin. This four-week program, under the patronage of the President of the German Bundestag, is designed for politically and socially engaged individuals who aspire to contribute to democratic development in their home countries.
Participants will gain insights into political decision-making and governance, and will benefit from workshops and courses on governance, democracy, anti-corruption, and civil society engagement, along with a one-week internship in a German Bundestag office.
Eligibility
- Citizens of Botswana, Ghana, Kenya, Namibia, Nigeria, Senegal, South Africa, Tanzania, or Uganda
- Younger than 30 years as of January 1
- Completed a university degree
- Good knowledge of German (at least B2 level)
- Strong interest in political issues and active civic or political engagement.
