Makerere University MasterCard Foundation Scholars Program 2026/2027

The Makerere University MasterCard Foundation Scholars Program offers 13 fully funded master's scholarships for academically talented youth from Sub-Saharan Africa facing financial barriers. This program aims to support young Africans, particularly those from underrepresented groups, by providing access to quality education and facilitating their transition into the workforce.

The scholarships cover full tuition, living stipends, mentorship, and job transition support, ensuring that scholars not only receive an education but also develop leadership skills and community engagement. This initiative is crucial for empowering youth in Sub-Saharan Africa and helping them overcome economic challenges.

Applicants must:

• Be from Sub-Saharan Africa and face financial constraints.
• Belong to specific groups such as refugees, Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), or young people with disabilities.
• Be 35 years or younger (or under 40 for certain groups) at the application deadline.
• Have completed undergraduate education in an African country and not hold any prior master's degree.
• Show engagement in leadership and/or community service.
• Apply for admission to Makerere University’s Main Campus for the 2026/2027 academic year.

The scholarship covers full tuition, living expense stipends, mentorship for leadership growth, and job transition support.
