Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program 2026/2027 for African Students (Fully Funded)

The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at Makerere University aims to support 1,000 young people from Africa in accessing quality education and transitioning into dignified work. This program offers 245 undergraduate scholarships for the 2026/2027 academic year, targeting academically talented individuals facing social and economic barriers.

Eligible applicants can access the application form at no cost through the online portal. The program emphasizes inclusivity, encouraging applications from young women, refugees, and individuals with disabilities.

Applicants must be:

• Refugees, internally displaced persons, young persons with disabilities, international students, or from underrepresented communities.
• 28 years or younger (32 for refugees and IDPs) at the application deadline.
• Have completed secondary education or a diploma in an African country.
• Experiencing financial constraints and not holding any other scholarships.

Covers tuition, living expenses, and other educational costs.
