The African Scholarship Programme (ASP) 2027 offers early-career African researchers the chance to conduct advanced research in Sweden. Selected scholars will spend two to three months at the Nordic Africa Institute, working on ongoing research projects while engaging with an international community focused on African studies.
This programme is designed to enhance academic networks and provide access to world-class research resources, making it a valuable opportunity for those looking to advance their research careers.
Eligibility
Applicants must be:
- Enrolled in a doctoral programme at an African university and employed full-time at an African university or research institution (for PhD students).
- Postdoctoral researchers must have completed their PhD within the last four years and hold a research or academic position at an African university or research centre.
Benefits
The scholarship covers:
- Return airfare (economy class)
- Accommodation
- Daily subsistence allowance of 450 SEK (approximately USD 50)
- Installation grant of 2,500 SEK (approximately USD 280)
- Shared office workspace with desk and computer
- Access to the Institute’s specialized library and libraries at Uppsala University and the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences.
