Pulitzer Center Journalists Grant Opportunity
The Pulitzer Center invites journalists to submit proposals that spotlight underreported issues affecting communities across Africa. This initiative supports impactful journalism that informs and drives meaningful change in policies and community behavior. Projects that elevate local voices and produce tangible benefits for the communities being covered are prioritized.
Eligible applicants include freelance journalists, staff reporters, photographers, documentary filmmakers, and newsrooms. The program encourages diversity and actively seeks applications from underrepresented communities, emphasizing the importance of teams that reflect the communities they report on.

Open to media professionals and organizations worldwide, including:
- Freelance journalists

Preference is given to teams that reflect the communities they report on.

Benefits
Funding typically covers reporting and production costs, multimedia development, and contractor services such as data analysis and storytelling design. However, it does not cover book projects, staff salaries, equipment purchases, organizational overheads, or academic research without a strong journalism component.
