
UBC Public Scholars Award
The UBC Public Scholars Award is a prestigious opportunity for PhD students who aim to make a real-world impact through their research. This award supports doctoral candidates at the University of British Columbia who wish to connect their academic work with societal needs, fostering innovative solutions to pressing problems.

Eligibility
To be eligible for the UBC Public Scholars Award, applicants must:
- Be enrolled in a doctoral program (PhD, EdD, or DMA) at UBC.
- Be in Year 1 to Year 5 of their program.
- Have completed less than 48 months of doctoral study.
- Be registered by September 2025.
International students from all countries are welcome to apply.
Benefits
The award offers up to $10,000 per year, renewable for a total of up to $20,000. Funding can be used for research projects, travel, fieldwork, and professional development.
