UNDP African Women Scholarships 2026 for Women in Politics (Fully Funded)
The UNDP African Women Scholarships 2026 is a fully funded, four-week programme designed to enhance women's representation in political leadership across Africa. This initiative aims to address gender gaps in governance by providing training, mentorship, and networking opportunities for emerging and established women leaders. Participants will engage in a blended learning format, including a residential session in Rwanda, to gain practical skills in campaign strategy, governance frameworks, and coalition-building.
With only 30 spots available, this competitive programme targets women actively involved in politics or those demonstrating credible political ambition. The training is strategically timed to coincide with upcoming elections in many African countries, ensuring immediate political impact for participants.
Eligibility
Applicants must be:
- Female citizens of an African Union member state
- Actively involved in politics or demonstrate credible political ambition
- Secured formal institutional endorsement (government, party, NGO, etc.)
The programme is aimed at current political officeholders, candidates preparing for elections, and young women (21–35) with strong leadership trajectories.
