UNESCOGlobalDeadline: Posted

The UNESCO Youth Hackathon 2026 invites young innovators, students, and entrepreneurs aged 18-30 to design solutions that enhance Media and Information Literacy (MIL) in the digital age. Participants will compete for a chance to showcase their projects at the Voices European Festival of Journalism and Media Freedom in Thessaloniki, Greece, from 26-28 November 2026.

This hackathon encourages collaboration and creativity, allowing teams to propose practical solutions to navigate today's complex information landscape. Winning teams will gain international exposure, network with global stakeholders, and receive recognition from UNESCO.

Eligibility

Applicants must be between 18 and 30 years old and participate in teams of 2 to 6 members. Teams can be national, regional, or international, and no previous hackathon experience is required. Teams should support UNESCO values such as peace, diversity, inclusion, and freedom of expression. Gender-balanced and inclusive teams are strongly encouraged.
