
UNFPA Chief of the Data and Analytics Branch 2026 for Experienced Professionals (Leadership Role)
The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) is seeking applications for the position of Chief of the Data and Analytics Branch (DAB), Programme Division, based in Nairobi, Kenya. This D-1 level fixed-term appointment offers a unique opportunity to lead UNFPA’s global data and analytics agenda, ensuring that high-quality, disaggregated, and timely data informs policy, programming, and advocacy efforts.
The Chief will provide authoritative leadership in population, health, gender, and development data, overseeing the transformation of population data systems and driving innovation in data collection and analytics. This role is central to UNFPA’s mission and requires a strategic vision to enhance national statistical systems and global data ecosystems.
Eligibility
Candidates must possess an advanced university degree in Statistics, Data Science, Demography, Economics, or a related field. A minimum of 15 years of experience in public administration or international development is required, including at least 8 years at the international level. Candidates should be recognized authorities in population data, statistics, or demographic analysis, with proven leadership experience in multidisciplinary teams.
