The GREAT Scholarship 2026 is a competitive funding opportunity designed to support outstanding international students from selected countries pursuing postgraduate studies in the UK. Offered in collaboration with the British Council and the GREAT Britain Campaign, this scholarship aims to make studying in the UK more accessible by providing financial assistance to reduce tuition costs.

With a funding amount of £10,000, this scholarship not only alleviates the financial burden of tuition fees but also grants students access to a world-class education and a vibrant international academic environment.

To qualify for the University of York GREAT Scholarship, applicants must:

• Be a permanent resident and passport holder of one of the eligible countries (China, Indonesia, Kenya, Malaysia).
• Have an offer (conditional or unconditional) for a one-year postgraduate taught course at the University of York.
• Meet English language requirements before the deadline.
• Be classified as an international fee-paying student.

Not eligible if:

• You already hold a fully funded scholarship covering 100% tuition fees.
• You are currently enrolled at the University of York.
• You are applying for excluded programs such as distance learning courses, part-time programs, or programs longer than one year.

The scholarship provides a £10,000 reduction in tuition fees.
