
World Food Forum (WFF) Transformative Research Challenge 2026 for Young Researchers (USD 10,000 in Research Funding)
The World Food Forum (WFF) Transformative Research Challenge (TRC) is a global competition aimed at empowering teams of young researchers to advance applied research toward real-world agrifood solutions. This challenge is designed for projects that have demonstrated an initial proof of concept and are looking to further validate and refine their solutions.
Semi-finalist teams receive scientific mentorship, practical masterclasses, and expert feedback to help transition their work from concept to pilot-ready. Finalists will have the unique opportunity to pitch their research at the WFF flagship event in October 2026 at FAO headquarters in Rome, Italy.
Eligibility
Open to youth-led teams aged 18–35 with relevant technical or research expertise. Projects must be applied and research-led, with a tested proof of concept and scientifically sound methodology.

Benefits
Winning teams receive up to USD 10,000 for further validation and refinement of their prototypes. One overall winner will receive an additional USD 10,000.
