The 2026 Capacity-Building Programme for Women Energy Entrepreneurs is a six-month initiative aimed at empowering women entrepreneurs in the energy sector within the Southern African Development Community (SADC). This programme focuses on enhancing business capabilities through structured learning in leadership, strategic planning, financial management, and business development, while also providing access to experienced mentors.

By addressing the gender gap in energy entrepreneurship, this programme equips women with the necessary tools and knowledge to navigate market complexities and scale their businesses. It emphasizes the importance of women's participation in the transition to sustainable energy systems, fostering innovation and economic growth in the region.

Eligibility

Applicants must:

  • Identify as women
  • Hold nationality from a SADC member country
  • Own or run an energy-related business
  • Commit approximately 8 hours per month to the programme
