
2026 Internship Program – Session 2
The African Development Bank (AfDB) is offering its 2026 Internship Program, providing students across Africa and beyond with a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in international development. This program is designed to bridge the gap between academic learning and professional experience, allowing interns to contribute to the Bank's mission of fostering economic growth and social progress across Africa.
Interns will work in various fields such as agriculture, finance, engineering, and sustainability, gaining valuable insights into development work while building a pipeline of qualified candidates for future recruitment. This experience is crucial for students looking to enhance their career prospects in the development sector.
Eligibility
Candidates must be:
- 30 years old or younger at the start of the program
- Currently enrolled in a master’s degree program or have graduated within the past year
- A national of an AfDB member country
- Fluent in English or French
- Proficient in tools like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (SAP knowledge is a plus)
Benefits
Selected interns will receive a monthly stipend and medical insurance coverage during the internship. However, interns working on-site must cover their travel and living expenses.
