The AfOx Visiting Fellowship 2026 at the University of Oxford is a prestigious opportunity for African researchers to build international academic partnerships. This fellowship combines 10 months of virtual collaboration with a 2-month fully funded residency at Oxford, allowing fellows to engage deeply with their research while expanding their global academic network.

Fellows will work on a research project of their choice in collaboration with an Oxford-based academic, gaining access to Oxford's resources, libraries, and academic events. This program is designed to foster meaningful research impact and professional partnerships beyond the fellowship itself.

Eligibility

Open to African researchers affiliated with an academic or research institution who hold postdoctoral or equivalent research status. Applicants must secure an Oxford-based collaborator before applying and should have a strong research background with a clear project idea relevant to Africa and global development. Female researchers and underrepresented scholars are strongly encouraged to apply.

Benefits

Covers accommodation, return airfare, visa fees, airport transfers, and a weekly maintenance allowance of up to £250.
