African Academy for Women in Political Leadership 2026 for African Women (Fully Funded)
The African Academy for Women in Political Leadership 2026 is a transformative initiative aimed at empowering women to take on influential governance roles across Africa. This fully funded programme equips participants with the necessary tools, networks, and strategic capabilities to lead effectively at both national and continental levels. It addresses the underrepresentation of women in political leadership and promotes gender equality in governance.
Participants will engage in a four-week blended learning experience, combining virtual sessions and an immersive residential convening in Kigali, Rwanda. The programme includes mentorship from experienced political leaders and practical exercises to enhance leadership skills in political contexts.
Eligibility
This programme is open to women across Africa who are actively engaged in politics or aspiring to enter political leadership. Applicants must be female citizens of an African Union Member State, at least 21 years old, and demonstrate active engagement in political activities. Special consideration is given to women with disabilities and those from fragile political environments.
