African Academy for Women in Political Leadership 2026 for African Women (Fully Funded)

The African Academy for Women in Political Leadership is a fully funded program aimed at empowering the next generation of women leaders in Africa. This four-week blended program combines virtual learning with a residential convening in Kigali, providing participants with high-impact education and mentorship from senior African leaders.

Thirty women will be selected to participate, benefiting from a comprehensive curriculum that covers political leadership, governance, and ethical leadership. This initiative is crucial for fostering female representation in political spaces across the continent.

Applicants must be female citizens of an African Union Member State, aged 21 or older, with demonstrated engagement in political leadership or ambition. A formal endorsement from a government institution, political party, NGO, or relevant stakeholder is required, along with a commitment to full participation and post-Academy engagement.

All program costs, including tuition, travel, and accommodation for the residential convening, are fully covered for selected participants.
