African Academy for Women in Political Leadership 2026 for Women Leaders Across Africa (Fully Funded)

The African Academy for Women in Political Leadership is a fully funded programme designed to empower 30 exceptional women leaders across Africa. This initiative aims to equip participants with the skills, networks, and exposure necessary to advance to top political positions. The programme combines virtual learning with a residential convening in Kigali, Rwanda, providing a unique opportunity for women to enhance their political careers and contribute to transformative leadership on the continent.

Eligible applicants are women who are citizens of an African Union Member State, aged 21 or older, and actively engaged or aspiring to political office. This includes sitting political leaders, electoral cycle leaders, and young women leaders aged 21–35. Women with disabilities and those from fragile political contexts are strongly encouraged to apply.

The programme covers tuition, travel, and accommodation costs for participants.
