
African Economic Scholars Program 2026
The African Economic Scholars Program (AESP) 2026 offers high-performing final-year students and recent graduates from Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, and South Africa a unique opportunity to gain practical exposure in economic policy, research, and public policy implementation. This two-month training program combines hands-on policy training, mentorship from seasoned economists, and career development support, making it a vital stepping stone for aspiring policy professionals.
Participants will engage in a structured curriculum that includes research, policy design, and personal development, while also having the chance to network with like-minded scholars across Africa. The program aims to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and real-world policy experience, providing a platform for young Africans to excel in their careers in public policy and related fields.
Eligibility
Applicants must be:
- From Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, or South Africa
- Final-year undergraduate students or recent graduates in Economics, Political Science, or related Social Science disciplines
- Graduating with a First Class or Second Class Upper (2:1)
- Not graduated before 2025
