The African Economic Scholars Program (AESP) aims to cultivate future African policymakers through exposure to essential tools and training. It targets highly skilled final-year students or recent graduates in fields such as Economics, Political Science, and International Relations, all of whom have demonstrated academic excellence and active engagement. The program seeks to enhance their understanding of policymakers’ roles and the significance of holistic development.
This initiative provides hands-on training, career opportunities, and networking with seasoned economists and policy experts, equipping young African students and graduates with practical knowledge of economic policy, research, and development.
Eligibility
Applicants must:
- Be final-year undergraduate students or recent graduates.
- Be from Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, or South Africa.
- Have graduated or be on track to graduate with a First Class or Second Class Upper (2:1).
- Not have graduated before 2025.
- Demonstrate interest in policy, research, and development.
