The African Graduate Fellowship 2026 provides a premier opportunity for talented African students to pursue a master’s degree at The American University in Cairo (AUC). This competitive, fully funded fellowship covers tuition, housing, and medical insurance, while offering a monthly stipend to support bright minds across all academic disciplines.
This fellowship aims to strengthen academic leadership in Africa by equipping scholars with advanced knowledge, research skills, and professional experience. Selected students will enroll as full-time graduate students and engage in academic responsibilities such as assisting with research or teaching-related activities.
Eligibility
- Must be a national of an African country (excluding Egypt)
- Applicants with dual non-African nationality are not eligible
- Must apply for admission to a graduate program at AUC
- Must meet AUC graduate admission requirements
- Must submit TOEFL iBT or IELTS scores meeting AUC’s required thresholds
- Must demonstrate financial need
- Must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.2 to retain the fellowship
Deadline: 20 January 2026 (Cycle 1) / 3 May 2026 (Cycle 2)
