
African Liberty Writing Fellowship 2026/2027
The African Liberty Writing Fellowship 2026/2027 is designed for aspiring writers who want to produce work that resonates in public discourse. This fellowship goes beyond basic writing training, pushing participants towards publication and real media engagement. With a rigorous selection process, only a few are chosen to advance through the program, ensuring a high-quality cohort.
Participants will undergo a five-week online training program, followed by an extended writing phase where they will refine their ideas and produce publishable work. This fellowship not only offers mentorship and editorial guidance but also connects writers with a network focused on policy, economics, and social issues.
Eligibility
Applicants must:
- Be enrolled in or have graduated from an African institution of higher learning, or be an African studying abroad.
- Demonstrate a clear interest in writing, commentary, or policy-related topics.
- Be available for the full 5-week online training period.
- Have stable internet access for a fully online program.
