The African Union Youth Volunteer Corps (AU-YVC) is a prestigious, fully funded programme that offers young African professionals the opportunity to serve as volunteers across the continent while gaining hands-on experience in policy, development, and leadership. This initiative is designed to empower young Africans as drivers of development and promote volunteerism across the continent.
Volunteers will be deployed for 12 months in another AU Member State, contributing to development programmes and policy initiatives. This is a competitive opportunity for those passionate about Africa’s development and eager to contribute to **Agenda 2063: “The Africa We Want.”
Eligibility
To apply, candidates must:
- Be a citizen of an AU Member State (living in Africa or the diaspora)
- Be aged 18–35 years
- Hold at least a post-secondary qualification (TVET, Bachelor’s, Master’s, etc.)
- Be available for 12 months of full-time volunteer service
- Be willing to live and work in another African country
- Be proficient in at least one AU working language (Arabic, English, French, Kiswahili, Portuguese, or Spanish)
- Have at least 1 year of volunteering experience and 1 year of professional work experience.
