Barbro Klein Fellowship 2026 for Scholars from Non-Western Countries (Fully Funded)
The Barbro Klein Fellowship is a residential research programme hosted by the Swedish Collegium for Advanced Study (SCAS) in Uppsala, Sweden. It aims to advance the study of cultural diversity in a global perspective, welcoming scholars from the humanities and social sciences whose work focuses on cultural and social diversity, heritage, creativity, societal structures, and cultural expressions. The fellowship particularly encourages applications from younger scholars in non-Western countries and those of underrepresented gender.
Fellows benefit from a vibrant academic community, access to university resources, and the opportunity to focus on their research without teaching or administrative duties. The fellowship provides a monthly salary and accommodation for those living outside the Stockholm-Uppsala region.
Eligibility
Applicants must hold a PhD (or equivalent) for at least 3 years at the time of application, have a promising track record of independent achievements beyond postdoc level, and demonstrate significant publications and active participation in international fora. Scholars from non-Western countries and underrepresented genders are especially encouraged to apply.
Benefits
Fellows receive a monthly salary and accommodation support if they live outside the Stockholm-Uppsala region.
