Call For Applications: African Union Youth Volunteer Corps (AU-YVC) 2026
The African Union Youth Volunteer Corps (AU-YVC) invites applications for its 2026 cohort. This fully funded 12-month programme places young professionals in AU Member States to serve, learn, and make a tangible impact in line with #Agenda2063. It aims to empower young Africans as key actors in the continent's development goals.
Participants will gain hands-on experience, network with young leaders, and contribute to significant continental initiatives. This opportunity not only enhances personal growth but also fosters a sense of community and collaboration among youth across Africa.
Eligibility
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Citizen of an AU Member State living on the continent or in the Diaspora.
- Aged 18 – 35 years (must be under the age of 35 upon completing 12 months service).
- Have post-secondary certified qualification(s) (TVET, Bachelor’s, master’s etc.).
- Available in 2026/27 to dedicate 12 months for professional volunteer service.
- Willing to live and work in another AU Member State.
- Proficient in at least one AU working language (Arabic, English, French, Kiswahili, Portuguese & Spanish).
- Has at least one-year verifiable volunteering experience and one-year professional work experience.
Benefits
The program covers full costs of pre-deployment training, monthly stipend for living expenses, economy return ticket to place of deployment, health insurance, and separation allowance upon successful completion of service.
