The Chevening British Library Fellowships 2027 offers a unique opportunity for mid-career professionals, researchers, and academics to enhance their research careers at one of the world’s most prestigious libraries. This fully funded fellowship allows participants to work with rare historical collections, manuscripts, and archives while living in London.

The fellowship program spans 12 months, starting in January 2027 and concluding in December 2027 or January 2028. Fellows will engage in research, cataloguing, and knowledge-sharing activities, connecting with experts and expanding their professional networks in an international environment.

Eligibility

Applicants must be citizens and residents of specific countries, including Anguilla, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Falkland Islands, Montserrat, St Helena, Turks and Caicos Islands, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, or Turkey. Candidates should possess a postgraduate qualification or equivalent professional experience, at least five years of relevant experience, and strong research, writing, and communication skills. Knowledge of the history or culture of the relevant regions is also required.

Benefits

The fellowship covers living expenses, round-trip airfare, and up to £1,000 for project-related costs.
