The Chevening Southeast Europe British Library Fellowship is a unique international research opportunity for mid-career professionals in history, library science, and digital humanities. This fully funded, 12-month fellowship allows fellows to work on historical Southeast European collections while enhancing metadata and research accessibility at one of the world's most prestigious libraries.

Fellows will engage in archival research and data analysis, contributing to the improvement of thousands of historical records. This program not only supports academic growth but also fosters cross-cultural understanding and collaboration in a global library environment.

They should hold a postgraduate degree or equivalent professional experience, have at least five years of relevant work or research experience, and possess advanced proficiency in at least two Southeast European languages.

Familiarity with metadata systems and experience with large datasets or historical printed materials is highly desirable.

Benefits

The fellowship covers full funding for the 12-month duration, including monthly living expenses, return economy airfare, an allowance for fellowship-related activities, and up to £1,000 for approved project expenses.
