CIP Research Fellowship 2026 for International Scholars (Fully Funded, Remote)
The CIP Research Fellowship 2026 offers a unique opportunity for researchers interested in AI, public values, democratic governance, and policy innovation. This fully remote, six-month fellowship allows selected scholars to conduct original research using exclusive datasets, providing a $9,000 stipend, mentorship, and co-authorship opportunities.
Fellows will engage with proprietary datasets from major CIP research initiatives, producing outputs that explore societal understanding and governance of artificial intelligence. This fellowship is designed for late-stage PhD candidates, postdoctoral researchers, or independent scholars with a strong research background.
Eligibility
Applicants must be late-stage PhD candidates (ABD), early-career postdoctoral researchers, or independent scholars with strong research experience. Preferred fields include Political Science, Computational Social Science, Sociology, and Computer Science (ML/AI). Researchers from adjacent disciplines with quantitative or mixed-methods expertise are also encouraged to apply.
Benefits
Fellows will receive a fixed stipend of $9,000, paid in three milestone-based tranches over the six-month period.
