
CREATIVE Fellowship 2026 for Early-Career Researchers in Africa (Fully Funded)
The CREATIVE Fellowship is a fully funded, multi-country programme aimed at strengthening clinical research capacity across Sub-Saharan Africa. Funded by the European Union through Global Health EDCTP3, this initiative combines academic training, hands-on research experience, and industry exposure for early-career researchers.
Spanning 30 months, the fellowship includes clinical research placements at leading African health research institutions, enrollment in a distance-learning MSc programme at LSHTM, and opportunities for competitive internships in industry settings. This programme is designed to build long-term expertise in clinical trials, epidemiology, and health systems research.
Eligibility
Applicants must:
- Be a national of one of the participating countries (Ethiopia, Ghana, The Gambia, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe) and apply for a placement in their country of nationality.
- Hold a first- or second-class honours degree in a relevant field such as medicine, epidemiology, statistics, or life sciences.
- Have at least one year of experience in health research within an academic, governmental, NGO, or industry setting.
- Meet LSHTM Band B English language requirements.
- Be available to begin full-time work in October 2026.
- Provide two reference letters, including one from a current employer.
