
DC Winter Fellowship 2027 for Professionals in AI Governance (With Stipend)
The DC Winter Fellowship is a three-month bipartisan research programme aimed at supporting emerging and experienced professionals working in artificial intelligence policy and governance. Taking place in Washington, DC, from 18 January to 9 April 2027, the fellowship combines independent research, policy engagement, and structured professional development.
Participants will conduct research projects under expert supervision, focusing on key areas such as AI regulation, economic impacts, and national security implications. The programme emphasizes bipartisan collaboration and aims to foster constructive dialogue on AI governance.
Eligibility
The fellowship is open to applicants from diverse academic and professional backgrounds, including government, academia, industry, and civil society. Candidates must have the right to work in the United States, as visa sponsorship is not available. While there are no strict degree requirements, competitive applicants typically have experience or interest in public policy, computer science, economics, cybersecurity, international relations, or risk management.
Benefits
Stipend of $21,000 plus travel support and weekday lunch provision.
