The Education Changemakers Program (ECM) is a leadership development initiative aimed at empowering young professionals working in education systems across East and Central Africa. This program focuses on strengthening leadership capacity, fostering innovation, and improving educational outcomes through structured training, mentorship, and funding support.

Participants will engage in a four-week intensive training in Nairobi, Kenya, followed by six months of mentorship and implementation support, allowing them to develop and execute impactful education projects in their communities.

Eligibility

Applicants must be:

  • Aged 18–35
  • Actively working in or with primary or secondary education
  • Committed to improving education outcomes
  • Fluent in English
  • Not alumni of YALI RLC or Mandela Washington Fellowship
  • Willing to fully participate in both phases of the program.

Eligible Countries: Burundi, Central African Republic, Republic of the Congo, Democratic Republic of Congo, Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Tanzania, and Uganda.
