
ESCWA Fellowship Programme 2026 for Young Arab Professionals (UN Policy Experience with $4,000 Monthly Stipend)
The ESCWA Fellowship Programme 2026 offers early-career professionals a unique opportunity to engage in real policy work at the regional level. Participants will receive a monthly stipend of $4,000 and will be placed in Beirut, where they will combine hands-on research with direct exposure to UN-led development initiatives. This fellowship is designed to help young professionals influence economic and social policy across the Arab region.
Fellows will work directly with UN experts on pressing issues, contributing to data analysis, policy research, and technical cooperation efforts. This practical experience is invaluable for those looking to shape government strategies and make a tangible impact in the region.
Eligibility
Applicants must be:
- Nationals of an ESCWA member State
- 35 years old or younger at the time of application
- Hold a Master’s or PhD in a relevant field (economics, public policy, development studies, etc.)
- Demonstrate experience or strong interest in policy research, governance, or development
- Show ability to work in multicultural and professional environments
- Have strong communication skills in English (Arabic is an advantage)
Preference is given to candidates from the least developed countries in the region, including Djibouti, Mauritania, Somalia, Sudan, and Yemen.
